PARIS (AP)—Lance Armstrong and his RadioShack team have been forced to change unofficial jerseys honoring cancer patients before starting the final stage of the Tour de France.
The start of Sunday’s stage was held up while Armstrong and his teammates took off the black jerseys with the number “28” on the back. The figure was selected [...]

Running Total = 68.89km
Filed Under Bicycle | Leave a Comment
When I think about it, running total sounds a little stupid considering this is biking. So next post, it’ll be biking total. And the grand number so far is 68km. Today’s trip was a grilling 30.6km at an average speed of 20.8km in a time of 1h28min. Grilling because it was up and down a [...]

Running Total = 38.3km

I maxed my speed today at 51km/h, of course going downhill, crouched low, and pedaling for my dear life. Lasted a whole 10 seconds maybe. My average throughout my mini journey was 21km/h and my ride lasted 57minutes. My journey today (actually, a few days ago) was basically 20km. Tomorrow I’m planning something a tiny [...]

Finally Got That Tube Changed
Filed Under Bicycle | Leave a Comment
I blew a tube not too long ago (Actually, July 2nd, man time flies extremely quickly) and yesterday I replaced it. Would have been sooner but my wife through out a yellow rim band I was planning to put on because she thought it was old packaging material (the kind used to secure boxes). And [...]

Le Tour de France: My 2 cents
Filed Under Bicycle | Leave a Comment
I’m really enjoying watching reading and keeping up with the Tour de France 2010. It’s a great race and an incredible test of power, strength, endurance, and a person’s psychological state. But then again, it’s the best of the best that take part, so it should be no surprise that these men live and breathe [...]

I’m really late to the party with getting my bicycle out. I would have done it earlier but excuses (like exams and laziness) got in the way. I kinda regret not doing it earlier because it’s so damn fun to ride a bike.
I took the girl out today, oiled her up and tightened anything that [...]

Today’s Ride
Filed Under Bicycle, General | Leave a Comment
That early morning ride had to be postponed until midday. I did wakeup at the intended 6am mark but looked outside and it was kinda dark and a little too wet for my liking (from yesterday’s rainfalls). Eventually I got up and put on all the gear and went for a ride. Because my cycle [...]

Some Pictures of the Repairs
Filed Under Bicycle, General | Leave a Comment
Here are some pictures from my repairs I did. At left you see the tool kit I ordered from Allegro. Everything’s great except the fact that the rear cogs were on so tight I had to use a hammer and the lockring tool that I needed wasn’t included in the set. Just so happens my [...]

Cycling Computer Reset
Filed Under Bicycle, General | Leave a Comment
My cycling computer reset today. I think it was because I dropped it. Oh well. The last number on it was 1879km. So more or less to this day I’ve gone 180 km on the bike. Yesterday was some major repairing and replacing. I replaced my quick release and rear axle as well as put [...]

So on the 13th day into the season (and at 75km into the season) I get my first flat tire. Awesome experience. Must have landed pretty hard, just don’t know when. Changing it (patching the 3rd tube I’ve already replaced which already has a patch on it!) was quite quick, I’ve got experience. 20 minutes [...]

So I think I can say that (my) official bike season has begun. I brought out the ole’ beast a few days ago with an odometer reading of 1698.6km on April 2nd, 2008. It looked good but my rear breaks had to be a adjusted a little bit and rear mudguard was starting to be [...]

Some TVP 3 and Snow
Filed Under Bicycle, General, Interesting | 1 Comment
Snow fell here in our beautiful Bialystok, although it didn’t last too long. I took this picture walking home from Pathomorphology I think, might have been a clinical session. I can’t wait to actually get enough time to try out some winter biking. Hopefully those tires I changed not too long ago will hold out. [...]

New Tires and a Date
Filed Under Bicycle, Movies | 3 Comments
I changed the tires on my bike yesterday. Damn was it hard…until I started to use the screwdriver. Screwdrivers (flat head kind) are so much better than those plastic handle things that supposedly “help” make it easier. I broke one out of frustration. Oh Well. Now I’ve got some awesome 1.95 inch off road tires.
We’re [...]

The winner of today’s Tour de France 2007 Prologue in London is Fabian Cancellara from Switzerland with a time of 8:50 minutes and an average speed of 53.7 km/h. The distance of the prologue was 7.9 km and included a few turns but was relatively flat. Tomorrow’s stage one should be quite the race.
2nd place [...]

Quick Bike Route
Filed Under Bicycle, General | Leave a Comment
Espen and I did this route on bikes yesterday. It took us 57 minutes to complete, which would put our average speed at around 20.0 km/h with a distance of around 18.97 (I’ll take an average of a couple of routes, so far we’ve only got one to go by). Today I did the route [...]

Bicycle Mileage

840.66 km is the current read out on my cycle computer. I can’t seem to find any other indications of what was the odometer reading before the season, but I would gave around 535 km as I remember passing the 600 km mark this year.
